Linda Zala

Spotlight on the artist...

Linda Zala is a Latvian Fashion designer who lives and works in Riga. Her colourful Jabots ( ja-bot, pronunciation: zha-bō ) date back to the 18th century when a fall of lace or cloth was attached to the front of a neckband and then worn especially by men in higher positions.

Alas, Linda Zala's modern time jabots evolved from the female version of the same accessoir which during the early 18th century consisted of a pleated frill of cloth or lace attached down the center front of a woman's blouse or dress.
